Wanderers

Marine plankton are essential to the health of global ecosystems yet are relatively invisible. Wanderers, a book for children and adults alike, explores the lives of this diverse community of microscopic organisms. Despite vast differences in scale and environment, plankton share commonalities with larger terrestrial animals such as ourselves: they grow up and wander to new places.

This book was the result of NSF-funded research on methods of communicating the science of marine plankton that I carried out at the RISD Nature Lab in 2014.
